Research from CACI, the consumer and location intelligence specialist, indicates the UK economy will receive a significant boost from consumer spending this Christmas. According to the survey[1], 62% of consumers will spend more or the same as last Christmas. In addition, CACI’s data reveals retailers can look forward to £3 billion of spend staying in shoppers’ pockets until stores re-open in December.
Liverpool ONE outperforms national averages with record post-lockdown figures
Liverpool ONE continues its post-lockdown momentum across retail, leisure and dining, bucking both regional and national trends. Latest performance figures shows footfall at 86% of the volumes experienced this time last year, and sales at 88%, with both figures exceeding UK averages by 7% and 10% respectively.

ICON Outlet at The O2, the 210,000 sq ft premium urban outlet developed by AEG and Crosstree Real Estate Partners, has reported bumper Christmas trading with like-for-like sales growing by 39% during the holiday period from 23 December – 5 January, benefiting from a 34% increase in destination footfall to The O2 (excluding customers to The O2 arena).
